Wammo's got a brand new bag

This cat I used to know named Wammo has a new band. The Asylum Street Spankers they are called, I heard him on NPR on Sunday. That was an odd callback for me.

AMAZING!!!!! I know a band that Mintez doesn't know. The Spankers have been around for a long long time, and they are great to see live, so next time they come to town, let's go. Wammo is funny and does a very cool country-rap cover of the Beastie Boys' Paul Revere, but they also have a lot of curse-words in their songs and have a high member turn-over rate. Wammo is also big into poetry slams, which is a little questionable.

I would also attend an Asylum Street Spankers show, if for no other reason for payback for the numerous double whisky and cokes Wammo poured for Rob and I at Austin's long forgotten Cannibal Club.

The Spankers are truly great. But not new, I've known about them for about nine years. They've changed lineups numerous times but I think Wammo's been there since the beginning. He seems like an interesting dude, in small doses.

I have several of their albums, which are pretty good, but their live shows are not to be missed. Especially if you are a fan of hot jazz and dirty lyrics. Or seeing T. blush at dirty lyrics.

They are also a big-time role model for the PPHPHB.

9 years? that's new to me, you should see my Ipod.

As for Wammo, 'small doses' words to live by, wonder why it took me so long to figure out what K instinctively knows.
